KARACHI: The HANDS — Institute of Development Studies — has received final accreditation from the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
The institution has finally received approval to begin curriculum activities, for which the preparation had been ongoing for the previous two years.
In addition to receiving approval from other pertinent authorities and, of course, bearing the seal of the Government of Sindh, the aforementioned institution, which enjoys environmental friendly status, received its final certification in a single visit from the highest education authority during the middle of the current month.
Gratitude for the HEC Islamabad’s prompt action, the Institute’s Rector, Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Abuzar Wajidi, adds that the statement “affirms his conviction to make the institute a model one.”
As an institution that grants degrees, HANDS-IDS is now formally permitted to begin accepting students as of January 31st, provided that all necessary preparations have been made for the start of the admissions process.
“The Institute clarifies that a sophisticated transportation system has been planned for the students from the remote areas in addition to the program,” the statement said in its conclusion.
According to the HANDS website, it is a unique institution in Pakistan offering “Degree in Development Studies” with the goal of improving the world for coming generations. It also pursues goals of developing and making skilled labor available to hasten sustained economic growth in the current fiercely competitive global marketplace.
