LONDON: King Charles III ordered that Lord Rami Ranger’s will be “cancelled and annulled,” according to a notice that was published in the London Gazette on Friday.
It is believed that Lord Ranger’s social media statements criticizing the Sikh community and media remarks about Pakistanis were taken into consideration by the Forfeiture Committee, which makes the decision about whether to deprive someone of an honor.
The House of Lords Standards Commissioner’s June 2023 conclusion that Lord Ranger had harassed and intimidated Indian journalist Poonam Joshi via a string of tweets was also taken into consideration.
In 2016, Lord Ranger, who has contributed over £1.5 million to the Conservative Party since 2009, was named a CBE for his contributions to community harmony and business.
