According to Anadolu agency, Fars News Agency said on Saturday that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian had minor leg injuries in an Israeli missile strike last month that targeted a meeting of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
Top Iranian officials, including heads of the three branches of government, were assembled in a protected basement area of a building in western Tehran on June 17 when the incident occurred.
According to Fars, six rockets hit the building’s entrance and exit, a strategy that was employed in a prior attempt to kill Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
Pezeshkian was “injured during the evacuation but was able to exit safely,” the agency said, adding that officials reportedly fled using a prearranged emergency exit.
