PESHAWAR: Senior leader Asad Qaiser of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has stated that his organization hopes to work with other political groups to start a coordinated campaign against the administration of Shehbaz Sharif.
For months, the existing government and the former ruling party have been at odds, with the former saying that the PTI was engaged in anti-state activities and the former, formed by Imran Khan, accusing the administration of stealing its mandate.
When the PTI staged a protest in Islamabad’s D-Chowk in late November, law enforcement responded and multiple cases were filed against the party leadership, further escalating their conflict.
“We are in contact with [JUI-F Emir] Maulana Fazlur Rehman,” Qaiser stated in an interview with the Peshawar media.
