As part of its expansion into multimodal AI technologies, OpenAI said on Monday that it has made its artificial intelligence model—which turns text into video—available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users.
The Microsoft-backed business, which launched its ChatGPT chatbot in November 2022 and sparked a generative AI frenzy, plans to take aim at similar text-to-video technologies from Meta and Alphabet’s Google, as well as Stability AI’s Stable Video Diffusion.
When the AI model, Sora, was first unveiled in February, only safety testers participating in the research preview stage had access to it. Users of ChatGPT Plus and Pro can now access it for free as Sora Turbo.
“We’re developing customized prices for various user types, which we intend to launch early next year.”
