On February 6, 2025, Chief Justice Aamir Farooq of the Islamabad High Court will hear the petition contesting the social networking app X’s ban.
There have been multiple delays in the petition, which was last heard on April 17, 2024. The case was originally set for hearings on May 2 and June 11, 2024, but those dates were not possible.
On November 22, 2024, the court granted an early hearing to a miscellaneous application. The Registrar Office confirmed the hearing date for February 6, 2025, after Chief Justice Aamir Farooq ordered that the matter be fixed after the winter holidays.
