After the newlywed bride’s demands stunned her husband and his family, a joyful wedding night descended into a weird dispute that ended up in the police station.
The incident happened during “mu dikhai,” a ceremony used in South Asian marriages where the bride reveals her face to the groom, in Saharanpur, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
The bride allegedly requested that her husband provide her mutton, beer, and marijuana, according to Hindustan Times. After the bride persisted on the other two items, the situation became more heated, even though the groom consented with the request for beer.
Feeling uneasy about the scenario, the groom talked to his family before they went to the police to ask for assistance.
