ISLAMABAD In the £190 million case, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were found guilty on Friday by an accountability court in the federal capital after three delays in rendering a decision.
In a hearing conducted inside a temporary court at Adiala jail, Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana sentenced the PTI founder to 14 years in prison and his wife to seven years in prison. He also imposed severe fines on both parties.
In addition to his wife receiving a sentence of Rs0.5 million, the PTI founder will be required to pay a fine of Rs1 million. The former prime minister will serve an additional six months and Bushra three months if they do not pay the fee.
