PESHAWAR: Following the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s approval of “indiscriminate and stringent action” against those responsible for attacks on relief convoys and the deputy commissioner, law enforcement agencies and the civil administration have begun a clearance operation to purge the Kurram district of criminals.
As part of the curfew, the district administration reported that the second day of action against miscreants in Lower Kurram had begun.
Before the peace deal between the feuding tribes was completed earlier this month, police and security force contingents had already been stationed in the impacted areas, which had previously seen fatal conflicts.
