RAWALPINDI: Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was imprisoned in the General Headquarters (GHQ) attack case involving the May 9 violent protests that occurred in the nation in 2023. Imran Khan’s acquittal appeal was denied by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi.
This occurred during the hearing of the former prime minister’s plea for acquittal, which was submitted in accordance with Article 265 of the Constitution.
The case was heard by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah in a makeshift court at the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
Public Prosecutor Zaheer Shah stated during the court that the trial in the GHQ attack case was in progress and that the prosecution had enough evidence against the accused.
