ISLAMABAD: Justice (retd) Faqir Muhammad Khokhar, the former head of the Missing Persons Commission and a judge on the Supreme Court, has died.
Only a week ago, the government named Justice (retd) Khokhar as the head of the Missing Persons Commission.
His death has been confirmed by his family.
The family members say that following the Asr prayer today in Lahore, Justice (retd) Khokhar’s burial prayer will be said.
Following the declaration of a state of emergency by Gen. (retd) Pervez Musharraf in 2007, Justice Khokhar was one of the justices who took an oath under the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO).
He was Pakistan’s acting chief electoral commissioner in 2008.
