KARACHI: According to sources who spoke to News on Wednesday, an American woman who came to Karachi for love refused to go home after her romance ended, creating a commotion at the airport.
The woman, known as Onijah Andrew Robinson, reportedly became upset when her romantic partner, Nidal Memon, 19, from Karachi’s Garden neighborhood, was unable to marry her because his family would not allow it, according to airport sources.
After interacting with him on social media, she had left for Pakistan on October 11.
She was left stuck because her stay in Karachi lasted past the expiration of her visa. She eventually received financial support and a ticket for her return from an NGO.
However, she refused to return at Jinnah International Airport, causing a 36-minute delay in Qatar Airways flight QR 611 to New York via Doha.
