Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has dismissed any threat posed by a possible combined opposition alliance to the current coalition government in the Center, stating that no alliance has ever been able to overthrow the government.
Speaking on the News show Asif told Aaj Khanzada Kay Sath on Wednesday that he had witnessed numerous opposition coalitions emerge throughout the nation’s history, but none of them had ever been able to overthrow the government.
According to The News, his remarks were made the day after senior opposition leaders decided to increase their contacts in order to devise a plan of action against the government.
Asad Qaiser, a senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former National Assembly member, held a dinner for the opposition leaders, who gathered at his home.
