The military’s media wing reported on Thursday that an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resulted in the death of 12 terrorists and the acceptance of martyrdom by a Pakistan Army officer.
“On February 5-6, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in general area Hassan Khel, North Waziristan District on the reported presence of khwarij,” according to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
“Own troops successfully engaged the Khwarij location during the operation, and as a result, 12 Khwarij were sent to hell,” the ISPR continued.
However, District Hangu resident Lance Naik Muhammad Ibrahim, 34, “fought gallantly” and was martyred during the gunfight.
Additionally, weapons and ammunition were found on the deceased Khwarij.
