The National Assembly’s treasury members laughed as former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat repeated the famous line “mujhe kyun nikala? (Why was I removed?)” following his expulsion from the Imran Khan-founded party.
Marwat, who typically entered through the opposition gate, entered through the government entrance during the assembly session.
Government lawmakers stomped their desks upon his arrival, prompting the Speaker of the National Assembly to joke, “Don’t get him in trouble.”
The speaker invited Marwat to remark on the merger of mobile carriers in response to a question during the Q&A portion of the conference. Marwat, however, replied, “My only question right now is to my own people—why was I removed?” rather than addressing the subject.
