Following a settlement over his two positive drug tests from the previous year, the Italian accepted an immediate three-month penalty from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on Saturday.
The 23-year-old, who won the Australian Open in January, will be able to compete in the French Open, the year’s second Grand Slam, which starts on May 19, as he is suspended from February 9 to May 4.
“I do think a lot has been put into when the ban would take place to impact Jannik’s career as little as possible,” Broady stated to BBC Sport.
“The ban expires the day before the Rome Masters, the most important competition in his native country and the ideal prelude to his subsequent participation in the French Open.
