BAJAUR: A 20-year-old suspect was detained by police on Thursday in relation to the vicious rape and killing of a four-year-old child in the Mamond tehsil of Bajaur. The suspect, who is the victim’s close relative, is said to have confessed to the crime.
The defendant enticed the kid with the promise of samosas, sexually assaulted her, and then strangled her to death, District Police Officer (DPO) Waqas Rafiq disclosed during a news conference held at his office.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hunar Khan, Station House Officer (SHO) Ehsanullah, and Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation Naveed Iqbal flanked the DPO.
The police official informed reporters, “The suspect also attempted to bludgeon her body with stones, trying to deface it beyond recognition in order to conceal the crime.”
