Karachi: Ahead of their ICC Champions Trophy encounter against South Africa in Karachi, Afghanistan cricket skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi has shown faith in his team’s skills.
At a news conference held prior to the game, Shahidi discussed the team’s preparation, the support of the fans, and their tournament goals.
Shahidi was unfazed when questioned about the pressure of playing South Africa, considering their record of just two victories in five ODIs since 2019.
“The difference between 2019 and now is too great,” he stated. “We are confident because we recently defeated them 2-1 in Sharjah. There is no pressure on us. We are currently concentrating on our performance in this competition, and I think our team is more prepared than before.
