AMMAN: After members of the Muslim Brotherhood were discovered to be connected to a sabotage plan, Jordan banned the organization, the nation’s most prominent opposition party, on Wednesday and seized its assets, Interior Minister Mazen Fraya said.
The movement, which has been operating lawfully in Jordan for many years and has broad grassroots support in major cities and numerous offices throughout the nation, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
According to Fraya, the group’s entire operations would be prohibited, and anyone endorsing its beliefs would face legal repercussions.
