Premiere magazine at the time reported that the two got into a “scruffle” because of a scenario in which Gandolfini had to grab the Gladiator II star by the collar. The Sopranos star, in Denzel’s opinion, was acting more aggressively than necessary. He then “storm[ed] over” to speak with director Tony Scott about the issue.
