Because Google is so ingrained in digital life, it’s difficult to avoid searching for yourself. For Sierra Boggess, star of The Little Mermaid, however, such is not the case.
“I’ll always remember the very first time when I was about to make my Broadway debut and no one knew who I was,” the actress, who portrayed Ariel in the 2007 Broadway production, told Us Weekly when asked why she no longer Googles herself.
“Google was a novel concept. The year was 2006. Someone once said, “Who is this nobody, Sierra Boggess?” I recall seeing that. That taught me to never Google myself again.
As she went on, “Calling someone a nobody is about the worst thing you can do because it devalues their presence in the world.”
