The production sites of Samsung’s Galaxy and Apple’s iPhone cellphones have become a crucial difference as the U.S.-China trade conflict intensifies.
Although the iPhone is primarily built in China, Samsung has strategically positioned itself in the face of growing tariffs by diversifying its manufacturing across nations like Vietnam, India, and South Korea.
According to recent estimates from Wedbush Securities, Apple continues to manufacture about 90% of its iPhones in China, which stands in stark contrast to Samsung’s reliance on several manufacturing centers.
Due to this reliance, Apple is especially susceptible to the ongoing trade disputes, which have led to up to 145% taxes on imports from China.
