PESHAWAR: On Thursday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi issued a warning that KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur would face a motion of no-confidence.
Following directives from the Supreme Court, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) restored reserved seats that had previously been given to the PML-N, PPP, JUI-F, and ANP, depriving the PTI of them and bolstering the opposition in the KP Assembly.
Ninety-three MPAs supported by the PTI were elected as independents to the KP Assembly. On the other hand, since they were given the reserved seats, the opposition’s numbers have increased from 27 to 50.
In the KP Assembly, twenty-one reserved seats for women were restored; the JUI-F was given eight of these seats, the PML-N six, and the PPP five.
