As a session of nuclear talks was postponed Thursday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Iran must “walk away” from uranium enrichment and long-range missile development and that it should permit American inspectors to visit its sites.
Rubio’s remarks highlight the significant gaps that still exist in negotiations between the nations to settle the protracted conflict over Iran’s nuclear program, in which US President Donald Trump has threatened to strike Iran if a solution cannot be reached.
They must stop funding terrorists, supporting the Houthis in Yemen, developing long-range missiles that serve no function other than to produce nuclear weapons, and engaging in enrichment activities.
