Amid a trade battle with the United States and President Donald Trump’s frequent statements attacking Canada’s sovereignty, Prime Minister Mark Carney has announced a new team that promises “decisive action” on his ambitious economic program.
A new foreign minister to manage the tense US-Canada relationship is one of the major changes in the new cabinet of 28 members.
“Canada’s new ministry is built to deliver the change Canadians want and deserve,” Carney said in a statement.
Two weeks after the elections, there is a reshuffle that includes both political rookies and well-known figures.
