Hours after US President Donald Trump mediated a truce between New Delhi and Islamabad, CNN journalist Nic Robertson disclosed that India was forced to make an immediate withdrawal due to Pakistan’s potent retaliation attacks in reaction to Indian aggression, which resulted in a ceasefire.
“When India attacked three Pakistani airbases, Pakistan responded with a relentless, massive barrage of missiles and rockets… into Indian military facilities, airbases, and weapons storage sites,” Robertson told the press.
“That really put India on the back foot — they didn’t know what had happened,” he stated.
At least 31 people, including children, were murdered in an unprovoked Indian cross-border attack on May 7, marking the most recent escalation in the long-running conflict between India and Pakistan.
