The military’s propaganda wing reported on Saturday that nine terrorists were shot dead in two different clashes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while at least two Pakistan Army personnel accepted death.
Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Mohmand District in response to reports of terrorist activity, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
“During the conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged [their] location, resultantly, seven khwarij were sent to hell,” claimed the statement.
Two troops, however, Havildar Muhammad Zahid of District Malakand and Sepoy Aftab Ali Shah of District Chitral, made the “ultimate sacrifice and embraced martyrdom” during a fierce gunfight.
