DOHA: Following billions of dollars in pledges from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, US President Donald Trump concludes a Middle East tour in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday, concentrating entirely on pursuing deals.
Trump, who is usually prepared for surprises, did not rule out going to Turkey if Russian President Vladimir Putin shows up for talks with Ukraine. The first significant tour of his second term was supposed to conclude on Thursday.
Following a stop in Qatar, where he praised what he described as a record $200 billion contract for Boeing airplanes, Trump will take a plane to the Emirati capital of Abu Dhabi.
He began the journey in Saudi Arabia, which pledged to invest $600 billion of its own.
