A video that has gone viral on social media and provoked controversy shows a couple from Mumbai allegedly bullying a pizza delivery guy for not speaking Marathi, according to Indian media.
According to reports, the incident happened on Monday in a city suburb. Debates about imposing the local language have been rekindled by it.
According to an NDTV report, the pair started forcing the delivery man, Rohit Lavare, to speak Marathi after he had come to serve a pizza.
Lavare repeatedly tried to explain that he didn’t speak the language, but the couple persisted.
If Lavare did not speak Marathi, they threatened to withhold payment.
