On Tuesday, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the speaker of the National Assembly, said he was certain that a majority of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf legislators would not back a resolution of no-confidence against him.
In a casual interview with reporters in Islamabad, the NA speaker stated that those “friends” who were keen to introduce the motion of no-confidence against him might proceed.
“I’ve been informed that I’m the target of a motion of no-confidence,” he continued.
PTI sources claim that the erstwhile ruling party was thinking of working with opposition allies to file no-confidence votes against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the NA speaker.
