According to Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) authorities, foreign airlines have started flying across Pakistani airspace after the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan. However, Air France is still rerouting its flights around Pakistan, which results in a large increase in fuel expenses.
Major international airlines, such as Swiss Air, Lufthansa, British Airways, Emirates, and others, temporarily ceased operating in Pakistani airspace during the military skirmishes between India and Pakistan earlier this month due to increased security concerns.
Rerouting flights to Indian destinations including Amritsar, Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai resulted in longer journey times and higher operating expenses.
Airlines like Swiss Air, Lufthansa, British Airways, Etihad, and Emirates have resumed regular operations and are once again flying across Pakistani airspace since the ceasefire, according to PAA authorities.
