ISLAMABAD: Citing actions that went against diplomatic protocol and were incompatible with his privileged position, Pakistan has designated an employee of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad as persona non grata.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said in a statement that the Indian official was given a 24-hour notice to leave the country.
To formally tell him of the decision, the Indian Chargé d’Affaires was called to the Foreign Office on Wednesday. Pakistani officials emphasized at the conference that all Indian High Commission employees and diplomats must properly fulfill their diplomatic responsibilities and abstain from abusing their privileges.
