In order to finalize the provincial budget, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Thursday asked the government to permit five to six members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to meet with the party’s imprisoned founder, Imran Khan.
He forewarned the federal government that if meetings were prohibited, the KP government would not support it under the IMF’s terms.
Gandapur’s remarks coincided with the start of the next fiscal year’s budget preparations by the federal and provincial administrations.
In order to continue working together on a 19-point agenda, including the elimination of provincial support and commodity procurement costs, the federal government and the provinces signed a National Fiscal Pact last year.
