Pakistan has emphasized that after India’s senior leadership made unfounded accusations, escalating remarks and aggressive posture only help to increase tensions.
A month after a deadly attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) prompted New Delhi to halt a crucial river water-sharing agreement between the neighbors, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said the day before that Pakistan would not receive water from rivers over which India had rights.
“Pakistan will have to pay a heavy price for every terrorist attack… Pakistan’s army will pay it, Pakistan’s economy will pay it,” Modi declared during a public gathering in the Pakistan-bordering northwest state of Rajasthan.
