ISLAMABAD The Pakistan Airports Authority announced in a statement on Friday that it has prolonged the airspace shutdown for any Indian-owned or Indian-operated airlines till 4:59 am local time on June 24.
According to a statement from the authority, the ban covers “all aircraft registered, operated, owned, or leased by India” and includes Indian military aircraft.
India has prolonged the ban on Pakistani or Pakistani-operated flights’ use of Indian airspace till June 23.
In the midst of ongoing tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors after the Pahalgam incident in April, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the action prolongs restrictions that were first put in place last month.
