In an open appeal to the nation’s “unseen forces” for a “give and take” deal to achieve her brother’s release, Aleema Khan, the sister of imprisoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan, has offered to have direct talks.
During his Tuesday media appearance in Islamabad, Aleema asserted that judges were “facing pressure” in the PTI founder’s cases, citing instances in which his petitions were purportedly submitted to cause lists but then inexplicably vanished.
Khan, the former prime minister who was overthrown by the opposition’s 2022 motion of no-confidence, has been accused of everything from terrorism to corruption ever since he was removed from office. His incarceration began in August 2023.
