A major announcement about Queen Camilla’s new honor was made by Buckingham Palace. Queen Camilla and King Charles arrived in Canada on Monday.
To announce the honor, the palace posted a picture of Queen Camilla with the monarch, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, and the Governor-General.
The caption read, “The Queen was sworn in as a member of the Canadian Privy Council this afternoon.”
“The Queen participated in a private ceremony in the presence of the King, the Governor-General, and the Prime Minister,” it said.
The King receives advice on matters of national significance from the Privy Council.
