ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Tuesday that the nation’s self-reliance is related to inexpensive energy and agriculture, and he instructed the relevant authorities to remove any obstacles preventing the Diamer-Bhasha Dam from being completed on schedule.
The premier noted that building new dams was essential to ensuring water supply for farmers, improving water storage capacity, and preventing floods while chairing a meeting on the construction of Diamer-Bhasha Dam and other water resources issues.
According to him, the nation’s self-sufficiency was correlated with reasonably priced power and agriculture, both of which necessitated more water storage and effective water use.
