PESHAWAR: Two additional tourists’ bodies were found on Saturday during a continuous search for the victims who are still missing, bringing the total number of fatalities in the Swat River disaster to 11.
Around 8 a.m. on Friday, the group, who were on a pleasure excursion, had been enjoying breakfast by the riverbank in the Mingora area when heavy rainfall upstream caused the river’s water level to increase suddenly and quickly.
In the beginning, four people were rescued and the bodies of nine victims were found, but four more people were still missing in the river.
The death toll now stands at ten after two additional bodies—including one of a child—were found this morning. Since then, seven bodies and the survivors have been moved to Daska.
