ISLAMABAD: For overseas Pakistanis visiting the nation, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced a 120-day tax-free mobile registration service.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) stated in a statement on Tuesday that users can access the PTA’s free, automated Temporary Mobile Registration System via the Device Identification Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) portal in order to take advantage of this benefit.
This project demonstrates “PTA’s commitment to enabling digital inclusion and ease of access” while simultaneously ensuring that overseas Pakistanis have continuous mobile connectivity throughout their brief visits to Pakistan.
There have been recent allegations that PTA has canceled the levy it imposed on imported cell phones. The authorities, however, deemed these assertions to be unfounded.
