Police stated Friday that a fight between members of the two forces in Karachi’s SITE-A Area resulted in the death of a police officer and the injury of a Rangers member.
Initial investigations showed that the two males got into a fight that turned into a gunfight, according to Senior Superintendent of Police Keamari Captain (retd) Faizan Ali.
Waseem Akhtar, a police officer assigned to the Gulshan-e-Maymar Police Station, was identified as the deceased officer.
Nauman, the wounded Rangers official, is presently unconscious and receiving medical attention in the hospital.
The SSP stated that two 9mm pistols were recovered from the scene. Nauman is said to be deployed with the 34 Wing of the paramilitary force. Once he regains consciousness, his statement will be recorded for legal proceedings.
