ISLAMABAD The News reported on Saturday that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have held negotiations for seat adjustments between the two parties in advance of the July 21 polls as political parties prepare for the upcoming Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The discussions took place at JUI-F chairman Fazlur Rehman’s home when a PPP delegation led by KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi met him. Syed Khursheed Shah and Zahir Shah from the PPP also attended the meeting, while Akram Khan Durrani, Maulana Lutfur Rehman, Maulana Asad Mahmood, Zahid Durrani, and Asjad Mahmood represented the JUI-F.
The JUI-F spokesperson said in a brief statement that “the meeting held consultations with regard to the Senate elections in KP Assembly.”
