LAHORE: After several years of suspension, the Punjab government has decided to bring back board exams for eighth-grade pupils, signaling a change in the province’s educational strategy.
Rana Sikandar Hayat, Punjab’s Minister of Education, presided over a high-level meeting where the decision was reached.
He affirmed the decision to resume Grade 8 board exams and promised to finalize a detailed plan of action within the next 30 days, including the design of the syllabus and administrative issues.
The group also decided to improve the internal examination procedure for fifth- and seventh-grade students.
