The grandson of former prime minister and PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Junior, has declared his intention to start a new political party with the goal of defending farmers’ rights.
Bhutto Jr. stated during a news conference held at the Lahore news Club on Friday that the party’s main goal would be to help and represent the agricultural community, which is the foundation of Pakistan’s economy, according to The News.
Those in attendance included members of Anjuman Mazarain Punjab, including as Dr. Ammar Ali Jan and Ghulam Abbas, as well as civil society leaders.
The late Mir Murtaza Bhutto, who established the PPP-Shaheed Bhutto in 1993, is the father of Bhutto Junior.
