KARACHI: Sindh Police have set staff members a 10-day deadline to cease consuming gutka and mawa in an effort to eradicate detrimental health practices that also affect the police’s reputation.
It has been discovered that a sizable portion of police officers regularly use gutka or mawa. AIG Imran Qureshi wrote to Sindh IGP, “The competent authority has taken serious note of this issue and expressed deep concern over the continued involvement of police officials in such harmful and unprofessional habits.”
The letter emphasizes how such actions damaged the police’s reputation in addition to having an adverse effect on the staff’s productivity and well-being.
