ISLAMABAD In consultation with the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), other pertinent forums, and media stakeholders, the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) has asked the Supreme Court (SC) to examine the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Peca) legislation and provide the government with the necessary guidance to amend the Act, according to a Tuesday report by The News.
Given the current political, economic, and social crisis as well as the recently passed Prevention of Electronic Crimes (Amendment) Act (Peca), the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), the largest organization of journalists in the world with over 600,000 members in 142 countries, has voiced concerns for journalists and media professionals in Pakistan.
