Government sources informed News on Tuesday that Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Ahmad Khan has put a halt to additional action against 26 opposition legislators who have been suspended, 10 of whom were also fined for unruly conduct.
According to the sources, the PA speaker directed the administration and secretariat of the parliament to halt any additional actions against the ten opposition MPs until the current talks were concluded.
The speaker filed a disqualification reference against 26 MPAs earlier this month with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) due to noise, screaming, sloganeering, and document tearing during the budget session.
According to the sources, the procedure for collecting penalties and taking money out of their paychecks to pay the penalty amount has also been halted.
