ISLAMABAD: After Reza Amiri Moghadam, the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, was added to the US Federal Bureau of Investigation’s “most wanted” list due to his suspected participation in the 2007 disappearance of former FBI agent Robert Levinson, Pakistan has backed him.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Foreign Office spokeswoman Shafqat Ali Khan claimed that Ambassador Moghadam is respected in Pakistan and is a legitimately accredited representative of a neighboring nation.
The statement reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to preserving cordial relations with Tehran and acknowledged the envoy’s significant contribution to the advancement of Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations.
