Authorities in Punjab have declared emergencies and stepped up relief efforts in response to the extensive flooding and devastation caused by the unrelenting monsoon rains in several districts, including Chakwal, Jhelum, Attock, and Pakpattan.
Jhelum: Numerous villages are impacted
Heavy rainfall caused Nullah Bunhan to overflow, flooding dozens of villages in Jhelum. According to Rescue 1122 personnel, six police officers who were stranded in floodwaters were also rescued, and more than 200 citizens were evacuated to safer locations.
The Pakistan Army and rescue crews are actively participating in the relief efforts. However, because of the high water levels and continuous rain, efforts in certain isolated places, such as Dhok Mojo, are still postponed.
