Conflicts between police and supporters of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resulted in at least three fatalities in Bangladesh, according to authorities.
Members of Hasina’s Awami League tried to stop a rally by the National Citizens Party (NCP), which was composed largely of students who led the rebellion the previous year, which set off the confrontations.
After police intervened, three individuals were killed, and 17 others were injured, including shot wounds, according to Monoj Baral, a nurse at the Gopalganj District Hospital.
“Ramjan Sikdar was recognized as one of the deceased. Two more remains were removed by families,” Baral told AFP.
